How can I help Consensus 67?

You can help Consensus 67 by signing the official petition, contacting your local Virginia General Assembly representative, and sharing the movement on social media. Our goal is to gather enough statewide support to force a vote on the Citizen Initiative amendment in Richmond.

Tier 1: The 30-Second Task (Social Proof)

Share this post: Did you know Virginia is one of the "Zero Power" states? 26 other states give their citizens the power to propose laws. In Virginia? We have zero. We have to wait for politicians in Richmond to give us permission to lead. It’s time to change the rules. Sign the petition to bring the Citizen Initiative to Virginia. 🏛️✨ consensus67.org

No partisan games. Just common-sense solutions that 67% of us actually want. Be part of the 67%. Join the movement today. consensus67.org

Give the power back to the people—not the lobbyists. Help us restore the "Lost Clause." Sign & Share. consensus67.org

Tier 2: The 5-Minute Task (Lobbyist Action)

Find and email your local Delegate or Senator. You can use the "WHO'S MY LEGISLATOR" website by the Virginia General Assembly. Here is a basic script you can copy and paste.

"I am a constituent in your district and I am calling to urge you to support the Consensus 67 amendment. Virginia voters deserve the right to propose common-sense laws via a 2/3 consensus. Will you represent my voice on this issue?"

Tier 3: The District Catalyst (Strategic Outreach)

Organized "Target Drops" at high-traffic, non-partisan community hubs. Instead of just handing flyers to random strangers on a sidewalk, adopt a specific Congressional District and ensures the "Consensus 67" message is physically present in the places where local opinion is formed.

You can download a flyer with a QR code for printing here.

The "Town Square" Strategy: Volunteers identify the top 5 community bulletin boards in their district (Public Libraries, local Coffee Shops, VFW Halls, and Community Centers). They don't just hand out flyers; they post the flyer with the QR code permanently on the board.

The "Line-Stand" Outreach: Find places where people are already waiting in line (farmers markets, DMV lines, or local festivals). Since people are bored, they are more likely to read a one-pager or scan a QR code.

The "Civic Presentation": Request 5 minutes to speak at a non-partisan meeting (Rotary Club, Ruritan Club, or a neighborhood HOA). Hand out the flyers at the end of the presentation as a "leave-behind."

The Script: "Hi, did you know that Virginia is one of the few states where we have zero power to propose our own laws? We’re a group of neighbors trying to bring the 'Citizen Initiative' to Virginia so that if 67% of us agree on something, it actually becomes law. This flyer explains how we’re using Thomas Jefferson’s original vision to fix it. Can I leave this with you?"

The only focus of Consensus 67, at this time, is to garner public awareness and public support. In order for any bill like this to get to Richmond, it will eventually require legwork in all parts of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and it will cost money to both advertise the movement and gather enough signatures to prove to legislators that this is a serious movement. This time is right politically, but we won't get anywhere without overwhelming support from the public voting body of Virginia. If you really want to support this movement, then we make the following requests of you:

  1. Please sign the petition so we can contact you directly when ready.

  2. Please follow and share our social media to create exponential awareness.

  3. Please seed the conversation with your legislators that you want our bill.

  4. Please mention us to your circle of influence (family, friends, co-workers).
